Professional Experience
Laura brings proven expertise in executive coaching, team effectiveness, and strategy implementation to her coaching clients. With more than 20 years of experience, she honed her business acumen while operating as a consultant and manager across a breadth of industries including financial services, pharmaceuticals, professional services, private equity, media, and consumer goods.
Laura has coached senior and high potential leaders in a variety of business settings, including start-ups, multi-divisional corporations and global non-profits. Direct and empathetic, Laura combines practical business perspective with an appreciation for the challenges leaders face as they develop new ways of working and thinking. She provides clients with actionable steps to make real, enduring, positive change.
Often Laura works with clients facing subjective and ambiguous feedback like “have more gravitas” or “be more strategic”. She helps clients to understand feedback in concrete and actionable terms; develop goals and a plan of action; and work through a process of practice, reflection and learning to achieve the goals. Laura takes a ‘whole person’ approach to coaching; when needed she helps leaders address stress management, time management and other wellness issues that contribute to the client reaching his or her goals.
Prior to her work as a leadership coach and consultant, Laura was a Vice President at Spencer Stuart, a leading global executive search firm. Her early career history includes consulting for Katzenbach Partners, Scient, Gemini Consulting and American Management Systems. She also helped create one of the premiere coaching firms, Goodstone Group. It was at Goodstone in 2005 that she identified and began pursuing her passion for talent management and development. She has worked with clients in over 20 countries.
Laura earned her MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA and her BA with distinction from Cornell University. She continues her education by learning from her clients, husband, daughter and dog. She also likes to travel to experience new things and pursues invigorating workouts and healthful meals at home and away
